Richard Allen White, 52 passed away on Wednesday, Feb 27 in Hazlehurst, Ga. Born in Avon Park, he was a lifelong resident of Lake Placid. He was commonly known to his family and friends as “White”. He worked in various trades of grove maintenance, well installation and irrigation systems. Richard had a love for the outdoors spending hours gardening and working in his yard. His favorite hobbies were fishing and grilling, but his joy came from spending time with his canine friend “Chief”. Richard is preceded in death by parents Carl “Snookie” White and Cathryn White Maughn; wives, Ann Bush White and Dawn Guertin White. He is survived by stepdaughter Monica (Sam) Warner; grandchildren Zachary, Sierra, and Sammy Warner of Michigan; brother Darryl White; sisters Lynn (Carlos) Resendiz, Zuelene (Don) Kesterson all of Lake Placid and sisters Angel Maughn and Nikki (James) McGahee of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. A viewing with family and friends is scheduled Monday March 4th from 5-7 pm and service to celebrate Richard’s life will be Tuesday March 5th at 11 am at Scott Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Brooks officiating followed by burial at Oak Hill cemetery.
