Delphine Gobbel, “Jean”, 81 of Sebring went to be with her Lord on Wednesday June 27, 2012 at The Palms of Sebring. Jean was born on July 11, 1930 in Gaffney, SC to parents Vera Josephine (Mathis) and Joseph Ernest White. She moved to Highlands County from Miami in 1984. She had a love for her God, was an avid reader, and enjoyed collecting bulls and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Gobbel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Walton; daughters, Paulette Killen, Martha Phipps (Steve) and Patricia Pisapia (Dennis); 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Gobbel’s life will be held 11:00 AM on Monday July 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes 116 Cleveland Avenue NE Lake Placid with Pastor Jerry Harper officiating. A gathering for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Private burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes Building Fund.
